Summer Solstice and Full Moon

SUMMER SOLSTICE

The Summer Solstice is a time to celebrate life, growth, and abundance, and to honor the natural world and its cycles. It is also a powerful time for reflection and introspection, as well as for setting intentions and making plans for the future.

With the sun entering the sign of Cancer, our emotional awareness and intuition are heightened. So is our capacity for caregiving. Right now, I invite you to focus this caregiving energy on yourself, becoming aware of what you want and need.

Quiet your mind and let your heart speak. It’s time to allow yourself to consider what you want to create for yourself. Ask yourself:

  • What do I want to invite more of into my life?

  • Is there a dream I’ve forgotten about or put on the shelf?

Don’t be afraid to consider your wildest dreams; the ones you think are impossible.

Listen to your souls and feel what’s in your heart. Allow the answer to arise from within you.  What is your passion? What gives you meaning? What is your purpose?

Then, distill your greatest hopes, plans, and dreams into simple, one- or two-sentence intentions. Use positive words like: “I will step into my dream of…”, “I will accomplish…” “I will pursue my passion for…”

Keep these written intentions in a special place where you can see, read, or say them aloud often as a way to focus on and reinforce your motivation to achieve what you want in the coming months.

FULL MOON IN CAPRICORN

When we think about the brightness of the full moon, we know that we can see clearly what is usually in darkness. Have you ever noticed that it makes shadows more visible, too? So, we see what in us needs to be nurtured and allowed to thrive, and what in us needs to be released.

Tomorrow’s full moon is in Capricorn. The sign of Capricorn is associated with diligence, perseverance, problem-solving, limits, boundaries, discipline, and responsibility. In other words, all that we need to take steps to accomplish our intentions.

We are being invited to take responsibility for our own lives by recognizing our self-imposed limitations, finding solutions to obstacles, setting appropriate boundaries, and committing to taking measured steps toward our goals.  The full moon is also supporting us in releasing what is no longer sustainable.

Are there three small steps you can take toward manifesting your intentions?

Make a commitment to do it!
